Designcontest.net values the creative, personal and professional aspects of our members. We care for the way they interact with other members and wish to make our website respectful for all parties. We have created the following guidelines in order to ensure fair competition and healthy communication among contest participants. Please read the guidelines, and if you have any questions feel free to ask any of the forum's staff members. Entering ContestsTo enter a contest, designers must be a part of the Design Team. For more information on joining the Design Team, please see the Join The Design Team section of the website. Designers must first create a contest entry before entering the contest. It is important that they follow the specified guidelines, as set out by the Contest Holder. Once an entry has been completed, the designer must submit a reply to the contest topic that contains his/her entry. Optionally, a short description of the design may be provided in the reply. Contest entries larger than 650px wide should be linked to with an URL. Entries smaller than 650px wide may be posted directly into the topic. If a designer is found including an entry larger than 650px wide, they will be notified by a moderator and have their image reduced to a URL. Unless otherwise stated by the DesignContest.net staff, designers are limited to only 3 entries in each contest. It is the designers' decision to choose their best work, and then present that work to the Contest Holder. Designers should also respect the creative merit of their peers. If a designer chooses to display their work in a specific manner, or a designer chooses to do "extra" work for an entry, respect their creativity to do this and do not copy their ideas. Equally, if a designer creates an entry that gives you a similar creative idea, please respect their entry and refrain from posting your similar idea. Late SubmissionsUnless a contest has been officially extended, no post-deadline submissions will be allowed to that contest. Therefore, any such submissions made will be automatically removed by the DesignContest.net administration. Furthermore, such submissions will be regarded as a breaking of the forum rules and will be acted upon if the offense persists. CommunicationDuring a contest, designers and contest holders may not communicate with each other outside of the contest topic. This is to make the design environment a fair place for everyone, eliminating the chance of "favorites" being made outside the forum. Designers found communicating with contest holders outside the forum will be immediately banned. Designers may not comment on another designers work inside the contest topic. Instead, designers may comment with each other through private message or by posting a topic inside the "Design Team Only" forum. Creating LogosThere are strict guidelines available for creating any entry into a logo contest. All logo designs must be in vector format, and may not include any raster based elements. This means that your logo designs should generally be created in either Illustrator, Fireworks or Flash.
