DC Banner design and contest

I noticed the banners changing a few days ago when i hit refresh on the main page, I thought what a great idea. It shows a nice sense of community and growth. I wanted to see more. I immediately wanted to start designing some. I then read about the banner contests to find out guidelines, it is a little confusing for me.

I would like to make a suggestion.
There could be one place where you can view everyone's banners (like a banner gallery). They are all numbered and in order of completion. Each week one banner gets chosen to be put into circulation. I am not sure how you judge them, maybe a group vote or something. Not sure if there should be a limit to the amount entered. I think its always cool to see as many ideas as possible, as long as they are good.

Or each person can do one banner that represents their style but still represents DC. And people can change thier banner when they want, that might be too complicated. I guess similiar to an avatar but it is a DC banner. There can be a place where everyone's banners is circulated through.

I hope Banners can be made in photoshop and illustrator and saved as a jpg, I am not a flashy guy.

I like this idea, what do you think?

Flash just for that you can link it to DC homepage and your own. Cause it is also an advertisement for the designer who made the banner. On the far right side there is a button that goes to the designer of the banners website.

There are no limits on entering on the banner contest. This contest help you to get into the design team. Each win counts as one of the 3 wins to get into the design team. And also to advertise for yourself.

Each 30 or 15th of the month the banner is choosen by the moderator of the contest. Each post on the forum got a post date and post number. This way you can see when it is posted and say which post number is best.

Thanks for the reply. I read that all on the banner contest thread. I was just offering another suggestion. I just enjoyed seeing different headers at the top of the DC homepage. I had the idea of alot of them changing continuously for each member. Or one for every different section of the site.

If the banners/headers are made in illustrator is there a way to put it into flash for the link or do that in illustrator? I don't know flash at all unfortunately.
