Let's pick the winner for the Wacom Logo Design contest

Once again I am sorry that it has taken such a long time to post this poll, but considering the huge number of entries (over 60) it was not that easy to organize everything and come up with the short list from which we'll be choosing the winner for the Wacom Logo Design community contest.

Just in case you want to see all the entries in once place, you can find them in this flickr album.

All the registered members of DC community can vote and post comments about the entries and anything related to the contest.

The poll will be open for 1 week.

I want to mention that this contest should not be taken too seriously. It is just our was to show that idependent designers can do things sometimes even better than acclaimed design companies with huge bugdets. I would also recommend to visit the portfolio websites of our finalists to see their other works.

Here are the entries:

#2 by onesummer

#16 by Beanhead Logos

#20 by jarguez82

#22 by iTwin

#41 by andrendhiq

#55 by cincytodd

#57 by squarelogo

#61 by up_n_rising

#63 by aurellius

I chose onesummer's because of the usage of colors and simplicity. I also wanna add some feedbacks on two logos 61 and 63. I was going to choose 61 but then I said its too crowded and the colors dont pass to logo. for the 63, the idea of reverse/backwards is cool but even if i read forwards, its hard to see its "wacom".

So, congrats to onesummer from me for this nice work.

I chose #22 by itwin because it stands out. It has an artistic flair to it with the tilted 'W' and uses bold, and unusual colors that will attract attention. It is smooth and artistic, and I wish him/her luck in winning.

okay I am going to be a brat

I liked 45 and 18. . .

I love the w and m flowing into each other in 45

and in 18. . .I think it would have been great to go from the scratchy lettering it started with leave it as the w to finish up with a blown out of a victorian m. . .and the stages inbetween. . .

so for me. . .45

but it is not one of the choices. But I wanted the artist to know. . "good show"

be well
peace by peace, Dawn

oh btw. . .has anyone noticed the animated NBC peacock logo swirls around to look very simlar to the "designer" wacom logo. . .until it finishes its morph and becomes a peacock.

I gave my credits to #63 - nice ambigram and a nice step up from the old logo.
Onesummer could have a 2nd place in my opinion, but the swirls are too obvious cliché and overused, sorry.

I liked the way that WACOM was designed. How "W" became similar to "M".

The final result looks symmetric and eye catching!

Congratulations

@brunobam, @Wassail, thanks.

@ulahts, thank you for the critique, however, without providing any examples or explanation to support your claim that my design is "cliché and overused", making such comments without any support is far from constructive criticism. if you are going to make negative comments on someone's design you should at least provide ample support to back your claim. Wouldn't you agree?

while #63 is an ambigram, it's just not legible..To learn what makes an ambigram truly "good", try reading John Langdon's Wordplay, it is a great book. honestly, if you had not known already it was a logo for 'wacom' would you have really read it as such? And how does it convey the company's products? I give him much credit though, as it is a very good effort with the 'a' and 'o', however the 'c' breaks legibility.

I voted for #57. I also like the #63, i think it is a nice concept even it is not so readable the C.

I voted for #2. I think it's well-balanced and clear.

I also like the image in #57, but I don't like the font used.

I like #22 and #57 most,
I would have liked to see version #2 with colors,
I like the concept,

I like #20 too, but reminds me of a brush not a pen
I miss the relation to tablets on #41, still very good.

good luck everybody.

@ASLAN, thanks, in my opinion wacom is already have strong brand name so i decided not to use any symbol, just play with logotype. But i also make "O" letter in sketched style to get relation with tablet..

I voted #22 as a complete design - it seemed nice to get away from a harsh angular logo. To me the sound of the word wacom (save for the 'c') is soft. Colours could be different though..liked #63 but the c is illegible. Agree with ulahts' general take on that design.

Onesummer has my vote. #2 and #63 are my favs, but I don't know how well somebody new to wacom could read #63 so I am going with onesummer. Nice job man.

I like no. 2 because of it's simplicity and the fact that the colors can be changed very easily to suit different purposes or backgrounds.
