Thumbs up sidewalk art. amazing art. hard to actually believe.

i am pretty sure this guy ken savage did most or all of these.... if you search around on the net, you can see it really is real. I saw a special on television, it was amazing. I remember seeing the world picture from another angle, it was EXTREMELY enlongated on the sidewalks...These pieces of art can only be seen as '3d' from that angle. If you walk behind it or on the side, its totally distorted. haha pretty amazing.

I've seen this guys work a bunch of times now, and it still amazes me like it was the first time I'd seen it. What's really fascinating, as some of you have mentioned, is how he uses perspective to create that surrealistic effect you get when viewing it from the right angle. Just now, I started to see in my head what one of those drawings might look like from another point of view.

emoryarts is an unknown quantity at this point
Julian Beever

He is an amazing artist and has a keen sense of a vanishing point. No doubt, his living would be easily made by doing this. You just have to think of how you'd sell it.

Still wonder how he measure it so it looks so correct in perspective.

I think his images are best when viewed from a specific angle. That is atleast what I read somewhere, and it makes since. They are pretty cool.

Maybe he projects the original illustration at the specific angle and then chalks it...

Pure Talent I say. People like this are truly phenomenal, and I wish I could this art work in person. Sometime we have chalk art by the SAM (Seattle Art Museum). Mostly in the summer though.

Thanks for posting that.
