Hello together!
Today I wanna know: What's your most favourite Music while you are designing? Not only "What you're listening right now" but a bit more deeper. I prefer Music of films, like The Passion of the Christ Soundtrack by John Debney Music of "The Crow" Gladiator Soundtrack it makes me feel uplifting on the other hand I like alternative much f.e. Dallas Green, William Fitzsimmons. House Music and Schiller (Chillout/Trance) |

I didn't listen "Passion " but "Gladiator" is one of my favourite soundtracks.
I will add as very inspirational : The Hostage by Alexandre Desplat ( i like other Desplat works too ) Psycho, Taxi driver, Cape Fear by Bernard Herrmann (superb composer, hard to find and buy other works) The Island by Steve Jablonsky I also like asian soundtracks . Curse of golden flower (Shigeru Umebayashi) is one of the best of this kind. Last edited by Digital_Rescue; 08-22-2009 at 04:36 AM. |

Depends on what I'm doing...my graphic designs..I listen to country music most of the time (huge kenny chesney fan!) while sculpting or traditional canvas painting I don't listen to music or even have a tv on, lets me concentrate in a different way as I need the stillness to work out my composition, I don't want to be filled with music when working the composition.

depends on what I'm working on - I've listened to the soundtrack from the first Harry Potter movie probably a thousand times. That said, I also listen to metal, electronica, uk grime - really depends on the work.
I do typically listen to the same music for the life of the job...so if I'm listening to phish when I start a poster, I might listen to the same album 6 or 7 times until I finish it.

I have the same habit. Music and current work becomes one piece that way. Catalina Lotero : Could you named some other artists or albums ? I don't recognize old french music well. Maybe that kind of music is worth to try. |

i usually do things in total silence so it keeps me on track better, but if it's a boring project then something with a heavy beat (megadeth's endagame was insane for instance) and if it's a nice relaxed day, then some nice harmonics like covenant or arvo pärt |

i love the idea of design as a job because you can do it while listening to music or even watching movies, hardly ever feels like "work" but it pays like work
that said, i listen to catchy stuff that keeps me in good spirits if you like alternative/pop/rock my top picks atm are "Hands" by the Almost, "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" by Vampire Weekend, "Always Be" by Jimmy Eat World, "Bittersweet Symphony (Cover)" by Ace Enders & A Million Different People |
