thanks for the link. This is a good list, but my first thought is: If i started asking my client all of these questions, they'd likely hang up and contact someone else before I got halfway through.

On the other hand, too often, as designers, we're not given enough information off the bat and end up wasting our time and our clients time by offering up designs that they aren't happy with and having to make multiple revisions.

We could probably narrow this list down to 10-12 questions that give us enough information to make the client happy without suffocating the creative process with too many specifics. After all, a lot of people have come to us because they don't know exactly what they want and are interested to see what we come up with.

just my 2˘

I do NOT suggest you ask a client all of these questions, but hope that this list will help you think of a few useful questions you’ve never considered before
From that 5 categories you can pick 2-3 questions/categories and you will have a better brief.
The idea of this thread is to help CH in this comunity to build a better brief to have a better submission

I agree with that, some questions help a lot when designing a logo. I always ask color combo suggestion, what do they like on a logo (pure typo, an icon or typo and icon)
what they don't like on a logo.

It really helps knowing more about what the client is looking for but also too much info cuts down a little the creativity when looking for an specific design. I don't know if I made myself clear (My English is getting rusty)
