Veterinary Referral Hospital Logo - $750 - May 26
Contest_Holder: Dr Mitch
Company_Details: Toronto Veterinary Referral Hospital Type_Of_Contest: Logo Design Title: Veterinary Referral Hospital Logo $750 Deadline: May 26, 2008 Prize: $750 Colors: Open Comments: The Toronto Veterinary Referral Hospital is a new 16,000 sq ft state of the art specialty animal hospital soon to be opened in Toronto, Ontario. It is a high end referral-only hospital with specialists in Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology and Critical Care. We have a team-oriented approach to cases and patient care is at the core of our values. We are looking for a new logo to be used on our website, building, letter heads, hospital clothing etc. We are a caring yet professional group who want to convey that in our logo. We are looking for something that is not funny or 'cartoonish', but still has a bit of an aww factor - perhaps with both a dog and cat and person in it - maybe a 'cradling' of the animals. The logo should be relatively clean and simple, something that is easily identified and that can be easily shown in colour or black and white. Here is the one (perhaps) catch, our CURRENT proposed name is the Toronto Veterinary Referral Hospital (TVRH); however, this name has yet to be approved by the provincial governing body. We would therefore like our logo to be able to stand alone without words in it (surrounding or next to it is fine). Perhaps a circular or square shape for the logo.

Thank you for the very prompt submission. As we mentioned in the outline, we would prefer a logo (a symbol, design, etc) that could stand on it's own (i.e., without any lettering associated directly with it) as our company name is not finalized.
We would prefer to see both a dog and cat represented with some form of human contact (head, hand, etc). We are trying to emote a feeling of caring, something that incorporates the human/animal bond in a square or circular emblem. Thank you once again for your submission. Cheers! "Dr Mitch" |

Hi Casperamy (Chris),
I REALLY like where this is going. I like the elements you put in it. I'm curious how it may look as a slight profile with the cat and dog looking at the doc - maybe a little more of a realistic animal silouette? Not sure if it would get too busy in profile though. Once I hear back from my other partners I will gladly give you more constructive ideas (hopefully). ![]() Cheers! Dr Mitch On a side note, while it is more playful than I was initially thinking, it may take away the "fear" or intimidation of a big hospital. |

Look forward to the revisions - I forgot to ask, the reflective disk on the doctors head may be a little too antiquated for us, we'd like to see the docs head without it if possible. Cheers! |

Hello again,
Here is another concept based on my previous silhouettes. Fonts and colors can be changed easily. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DC/TVRH_01.jpg |

WOW!! There have already been some absolutely amazing logos thus far. As for feedback;
Casperamy: I think we like your initial logo the best – perhaps just a revision of the doctor, keeping the stethoscope, losing the reflector, maybe similar to the doctors head in the second logo. Dragonfly: We definitely prefer the second (the REAL second logo ). The font looks pretty sharp too! Perhaps a different colour – teal, or maybe a warm orange – pretty easy to make in any colour.Resurepus: The stylized animals are nice, but I’m not sure if it conveys the message of caring that we want. While we still prefer a circular logo, the shape of the logo is interesting and works well with the placement of the text, although the font would also need some tweaking. I hope this helps. Once again, thanks for everyone’s hard work thus far. ![]() |

We like the "caring cradle" design - the overall concept is quite interesting. Could we perhaps see a similar design with a more scaled human face and slightly more realistic animal heads? Cheers! |
