Paul,

I liked your first submission and was hoping that you were going to submit another one.

This is what I like:

I like the way the black looks.
I like both fonts, though I would like to see how font #1 looks in the black.
I like the colors used.
I like the basic idea of what you did with the colors.

What I would like to see is:

Font #1 in white with black background so I can choose between the two.
Remove the dot above the j.
For the design: I like the idea of brush strokes - but I the two colors in the center are just blocks of color rather than a brush stroke. If you redo the existing one and then if it can be done vertically as well.

Last, if the brush strokes could create a product (shoe or bag) but in a clean, sophisticated way, rather than kitschy.

Thanks.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'll be entering a revised concept in the next day or so. Thanks for your patience.

A good logo doesn't need to show what the company does, it needs to be remarkable. In order to achieve that, this logo features solid, elegant fonts and a fashionable mix of colors.

Here you go. I may also try another revision that develops the shoe a little more, if I have time. Thanks. also, I think the lowercase j either needs the little left curve or the dot back, because without both it looks like a lowercase l that's not positioned correctly. just a thought. let me know.

The problem I have looking at the font in two different colors creates a distraction from seeing the word all together. In the font and type I created and attached in the beginning I find it easier to see the entire word and the two words - keeping the color the same, but giving different scale both words and keeping the type closer together.

The image is okay, but it is does not wow me.

Thanks for your submissions. The font is good though I would like to make it a single word (lower case as you done) - no dot above the "j." I am distracted by the art in red.

The colors in your illustration are very good - vibrant. I am confused by the designs. Not that an illustration needs to relate directly to a product, but it does not seem to make any connection. What am I missing?

Thank you for your submission. I like the concept but again I prefer the font in lower case.
The colors used in though are not good. Particularly when they are set in black, the name is hard to read.

Can I post a revision of it, then? And thanks for the feedback!

Contest winner

Though i had asked to run this contest through the 15th of june
i have decided that the initial design by the graphic artist onesummer is the logo i have chosen as the winner of this contest.
I really want to thank those that participated. Though my comments may have been critical, i know that it takes a lot of thought and craft to come up with a design that will appeal to those who create a contest.

Rob

Type of contest: Logo design

contest title: Project art

contest deadline: June 15th 2009

prize amount: $225.00

colors to be used: Like the colors of the nbc peacock and the old apple logo with the color strips creating the apple. Stay in the primary color range - of blue, green, yellow, reds. Can use offshoots of those colors - i would tend not to go too dark - and stay brighter.

The product is a fashion product and i would like the logo to look modern but geared to a more sophisticated woman. It is not a junior product. I liked lower case futura/tahoma type fonts but i do not know that much about what fonts are available.

I made a design with colored "p" and "a" letters. Used colours that appealed to me and are close to what the contest holder requires.

But noooo, I am too late! Anyway, I hope you don't mind and I will show my design:

Congratulations, onesummer! Please send me a private message with your paypal address, and let me know once you've sent the files. Also, please include the name of the contest in the PM.

robfere, thank you for hosting your contest with us, and congratulations on your new design! Please let me know once you've received the necessary files and I'll transfer the prize funds at that time.

I will now turn your ability to PM back on so you can communicate with the designer.

Vicki
