Lisa Madden Photography - $200 - Dec. 22nd

Forum Username: LisaMikie

Company Details: Photographer: Specializing in Weddings (photojournalism style), Seniors and Lifestyle Portraits. Current website: Lisa Madden Photography - Madison Wedding Photographer

Type Of Contest: Logo Design

Contest Title: Lisa Madden Photography Logo

Contest Deadline: 12-22-09

Prize Amount: $200

Colors To Be Used: Baby blue, Tiffany blue or black/white

Example URLs: Tiffany & Co. | Home | United States
Scottsdale Arizona Wedding Photographer Jennifer Bowen
Savannah Photographer - Allison Reisz Photography - Wedding and Portrait Photographer
ethanallen.com - Ethan Allen | furniture | interior design | home (watermark logo)

I'm looking for a clean & elegant Logo for my photography business. I love scrolling designs but only as a small element or piece of the overall design. I'm not sure if I want a specific emphasis on the 'L' or the 'M' but I'm open to any ideas. I have a very sweet, a bit southern, clean style. I know I don't like anything too busy. I love chandeliers (the arm or a crystal). I want to be able to use this logo for business cards, letter head & watermarks (or just pieces of the Logo for certain things. I would love it if I can change the color. I may change the Splash Page color or maybe just using a very light blue in the Logo as a color to give my website some freshness.

Here is my first concept..
I went a little more green play off of the tiffany blue color.
I believe the tiffany blue is trademarked? not sure though.

Hi Coy, Thanks for the 1st concept. It's nice but not exactly the direction I was looking for. I like the simplicity and the green color(as an option), what I don't like is the font on the text is too thick and blocky. Can't wait to see what else.

If you like the image I can change the font for the wording.

Thank you. I do like the design and the color. Can you change the script design and let some of the script come outside the box? It's not exactly what I was looking for but it's definitely on the path.

Fine, I will try some changes. You want me to change the calligraphic font, right? any suggestions on the kind of font you might prefer? If you don't have any I will send some tries. Thanks for feedback.

Yes, I was referring to the calligraphic font. I know I like the Baroque script I used on my website but I would also like to see something new. Thank you for your design!

Let's see if we get closer with this one. The font is more similar to the one on your website, but I actually have many to try, so tell me.
I wanted also to try a new color scheme, more mature.

Thanks and cheers.

Thank you again. I don't like this one. It looks a little messy to me, I'm looking for a little more elegant and clean.

If you go to my blog from my website: Lisa Madden Photography - Madison Wedding Photographer, I've put up a sample from a business card that I like. Thanks again for the submission, I can't wait to see the next one(s).

I'm unsure of what you're looking for. Are you wanting your initials in a type script or are you wanting a pictoral/iconic logo?

Hi Paulo, Thanks for the design. I like the style or the set-up but not the actual design. Not crazy about the 'L' (calligraphic font) but I like the basic lay-out of the design. Did you see my example of the business card that I linked in my last thread? I love that type of scrolling design, I like that you can use pieces of it for different things (ie, business cards, letter head, watermarks and the Logo) (that is actually what I want my business card to look like, exactly) I do like the font I'm currently using for my initials on the website but I would like to see more in that family (Baroque Font). Regarding the referenced example of the business card, I like that the scrolling is thick in some areas and thinner in others(not too busy). In reference to the watermark Logo that Ethan Allen uses, I love the simplicity of just having back to back calligraphic 'E'. In case, I'm not being
descriptive about the scrolling, it looks similar to a 'fleur de les'. Hope this helps and thank you again. LM

My revisions. Went more similar to the picture you linked, let me know what you think also about having an icon instead of initials.

Thanks for looking.

Have a nice day.

I really like this! I the initials are. Did you see the business card example that I have referenced on my blog? If so, could you incorporate something like that with a pice of some type of scrolling (ie; Damask, Fluer De Lis..etc..) Just a piece of it (just like the card)? Just wondering? LM
