Thunderbolts Logo Design

[Thunderbolts]

We are a non-profit cross-country team in need of an updated logo for the team. We have one but it’s just not good enough, and since we are about to screen print a large quantity of uniforms we thought we’d change it while we had the chance. We have a sketch of what we want – actually, we have 2-3 different options for someone to look at, give their opinion on, and then go with.

The project would need to be completed by Wednesday morning since we are in a huge time crunch to have the uniforms printed before a big meet this Saturday. Since we are a non-profit team on a tight budget (all coaches, staff, and any volunteers are just that…volunteers with NO PAY), we do not have a ton of money to spend but we will spend what we can.

If there is someone out there that could do this, we would be most appreciative. Having a classy looking logo is very important to our team! The athletes have been begging for one and I really want to give them one – they are a top team in their league, though this year they’re struggling a bit, so this would be a nice boost for them!!

Just a couple of questions. What are the team colors? Are you limited to just 2 or 3 color printing, or can it be full-color?

Hey Jaba, the logo can only have two colors. The logo will be put on an athletic gold shirt.

If anyone has any of there own ideas for a logo, we would love to see it! We are a cross-country team.

Hi Everyone,

This is the actual coach logging on here to make a few comments! I've been having someone else reply this morning since I'm out and about right now.

While we did post a few ideas for a logo, it was just that, IDEAS. We do not have a set idea of what it should like. We just want it to be classy and eye catching. Also, as this is a high school team (and a top contender in our league) we want it to look mature and professional. I want the logo to be one where other teams look at it and go "Wow, I wish our team had one like that!!" ;-)

As was mentioned earlier, our team colors are navy, white and gold. Most everything that is embroiderd or screen printed will be done on yellow material. As in, our singlets, t-shirts and warmup jackets are an athletic gold.

In the logo that was already submitted, it looks nice but I think it needs to be catchier. Obviously, the colors would need to be changed, but I also think it would need some more contrast. Such as, it might be helpful to have a border of sorts around the bolts themselves, maybe navy around the edges. Also, in the crest, maybe it could be a navy background with the "T" being in gold. I don't know. Just ideas.

Really, as I said, I want to see the ideas you all have. The more creative, professional, and classy the better!! I really want to give this team the best logo we can! It's one that will last for years and years!

Keep sending them in! I know I told you the deadline was today and it was, BUT...some things have delayed the uniforms so if I receive your stuff tomorrow morning, that will be fine. I'm enjoying looking at the different stuff you're posting.

As mentioned before, please do be as creative as you would like. I do think having a Thunderbolt someone how in it is a good idea, but you do it how you think it should be.

I'll be checking back here and will be able to make a more definite decision late tomorrow morning/early afternoon (EST).
