Company_Details: The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is an animal welfare group dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoptions, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs. We are in the process of rebranding ourselves and need a new logo. The current logo and additional information can be found at www.hstt.org.

Colors: Black and white is preferred, but we will consider designs with one or two spot colors.

Style: The logo should convey a sense of community, energy, caring, and progress. The focus of the logo should be on the name – “Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe” – with emphasis placed on “Humane Society.” The logo may or may not contain visual representations of domestic animals; however, if including animal images, the logo must contain images of both a dog and a cat. Because the HSTT is located in the Truckee-Tahoe region, representations of mountains, pine trees, and other alpine elements are suggested, but not required.

Comments: Simplicity is key here. Because we are a volunteer organization, the logo must be easily distributed and applied by many different people. Also, because much of our material is often printed by our volunteers' home printers, please avoid gradients, transparencies, and other design elements that will not reproduce well on desktop printers. Thanks everyone so far for your submissions! I thought I'd give some quick feedback...

Illumina: The top logo is interesting, but a little too serious for our organization...I like the incorporation of the animals and our initials "HSTT" so maybe something without the laurels and hands? As for the second logo, I like the feel, but think that the font needs to be tightened up a bit and that the mountain looks more like a volcano than a mountain.

tcwdesigns: The trees look too much like bad clipart. Also, we want to emphasize "Humane Society" and de-emphasize "Truckee Tahoe."

belladonna: I really like the direction of your design but have one comment...I think the dog looks a bit like a duck. Could you "cute" him up a bit (maybe make his nose a little shorter or more square)? I think the cat is great. I also really like the colors, but don't know how our Board of Directors will feel about them...do you have any other color options?

I tried to keep it simple-- all these designs work well in colour, black and white, and greyscale. Looking at it now, I think I need to fix the dog's back, but I'll do that tomorrow. If you have any colour schemes you'd like to try just say it and I can apply it.
