Logo: e107.org - open source non-profit content management system

Hey all - we're interested in getting a new logo design for e107 - an open source non-profit content management system (sort of like vbulletin that you use - but can't say for sure if they're open-source)

Our website is e107.org - and our logo is all right but we're seeing if someone can come up with something better - the e107coders over here are not artists!

Update: We're now offering 100gigs of bandwidth, 3gigs of storage to the winner on a 100Mbps server (that houses e107.org). Should help so that one of you doesn't have to use a free picture host

Update: I'm now throwing in a free domain name as well, as we're getting close to the end here! finally. You can choose from any .net, .org and .com that is available.

Quite good so far Jersey devil - I like all three.

I'd say #2 has the most potential, definitely rocking - I'll bring it up with the lead dev. on e107 and ask his opinion on those 3.


Dimensions: 280x112 will suffice for now - any dimension is really okay at this point, as long as its big enough to 'downsize' for any web needs, the logo will be used only on the web.

Anyways JD - awesome so far, people are liking #1 and #2 a lot it seems - I'll be sending more people to DC to post their own thoughts (from e107.org) - some are hinting at multiple colors, etc.

Our sincere apologies, as the design in question was for a personal transaction, and not a contest hosted previously on here. DC will not get involved in personal transactions between members, and will remain out of the situation.

I previously had asked two designers - one from brazil and one from the US - one for corporate logo, one for a site design/code.

The brazil guy made one submission - decent, I asked him to make changes and he dissappeared.

The one from the US - submitted a jpg of the 'design' - I asked him to code it to work with the e107 CMS as well as with our station software - he dissappeared and left us hanging at our due date for the site.

Nothing I could do with either - the one from the US came back two months later and asked for money - for what? we never received a site - we received a jpg with no html, php or code attached in any form to make our new "site" work with the e107 CMS - which we have been using for basically two years now.

Just so you are aware - there is NO money owed - again I don't owe anyone on this earth ANY money whatsoever - if I did - they would be paid in full.

this "personal" transaction is something that I am not getting involved in, and have removed myself from the situation. I have informed the designer in question to contact you directly if there is a problem, and that DC will not get involved because it is not contest related. Okay, so I tried to go with something a little more organic, I guess. I'm not sure if it works or not, but I wanted to put it up for you to check out. There are two different color examples-- it's set up so that colors can be tweaked relatively easily.

Clay, very nice - I like it a lot - but I don't think it fits our style (as much as it is very cool)

Balmong, I think that idea is nice - and could be worked upon - maybe add colors on the back instead of the embossing.. i.e. like a black/yellow, sort of a 'stylish' logo.. hm - but the embossing didn't seem to fit well - the idea is great though.

JerseyDevil, so far we all seem to be liking yours the most - #2 most espescially.. maybe a few different variations of the same one.. or same sort of idea as dropping it on top of the same shape but diff color, hm. can't think of the words.
