Book Cover Design
Attached is a book cover design (low res jpeg) that I did for my mother-in-law last year. She played professional table tennis representing Barbados, USA and Canada in her youth. The name of her book is "Called to Serve: Memoirs of a Table Tennis Champion." I incorporated the colors of the Barbados flag (her native country) into the design. I'd love to hear what you think -- thanks!

well I'm from Barbados...lol
* the front looks too cluttered with the blue text and the photos... * would have changed the bright yellow to gold texture to make it look classier * I think the blue is a tad too light to represent the Barbados flag overall it's a solid design

Thanks for the comments. The yellow is more golden and the blue text on the front cover is much more subtle on the printed piece. It looks different on screen so I understand your concerns. It makes a difference too when you are only looking at one cover at a time -- not both.
Maybe the blue should have been a little darker -- my mother-in-law didn't comment on it; and she criticizes everything. ![]() |

The book has a nice design overall, partly because of the strong contrast, which grabs a reader's attention. The front cover is indeed kinda cluttered, because of the dark text. I think it would look much cleaner without the dark blue text, which would make possible the positioning of the medal on the right side of the white title of the book. And then maybe it would look good with the title and the medal lower on the front page, with more space from the upper pictures. Hope that helped...
